Overview:

The Assistant Recruiting Coordinator will play an integral role in the Firm’s recruiting efforts supporting the department in all aspects of lateral and law student recruiting, as well as other firm wide initiatives as needed.

Work Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours – This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the majority of the year, occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. However, during the summer program and fall interview season, overtime is likely.
Travel – Some travel is expected for this position.

Responsibilities:

LAW SCHOOL RECRUITING
 Support the Manager in regards to the Houston law school recruiting programs (summer, fall, etc.)
 Participate and coordinate fall recruiting (register for On Campus Interviews (OCI), coordinate Fly-Back Day interviews, schedules, materials, etc.)
 Coordinate and participate in the Houston summer program (including social events, work assignments, follow-up, etc.)
 Document and prepare all correspondence related to the summer program and OCI (decline letters, database tracking, etc.)
 Review and pre-screen incoming applications
 Assemble orientation/program materials and handouts (orientation, new hire manuals)
 Update office-specific materials
 Communicate with students and attorneys regarding program and event details
 Prepare materials and attend Recruiting Committee meetings
 Actively serve in NALP and the city-wide recruiting organization
 Assist the Manager with associate engagement including new associate orientation, maintaining contact with new associates throughout the year, scheduling lunches, coordinating training programs, including CLE, etc.
 Maintenance of recruitment statistics and office recruiting budget
 Provide overall administrative support to the Law School Recruiting Department
LATERAL RECRUITING
 Coordinate and schedule phone calls, video conferences, and in-person meetings between the firm’s attorneys and lateral candidates in all the firm’s offices and across various time zones
 Compile and prepare lateral career opportunities for advertising online
 Manage and keep track of all hiring paperwork
 Navigate attorneys and staff through the hiring process; help them seek the necessary internal approvals for a position to be opened
 Track the progress of lateral candidates under consideration
 Coordinate background and conflict checks
 Work with office managers to coordinate orientation schedules for new lateral hires
 Provide overall administrative support to the Lateral Recruiting Department
 Work alongside the Manager of Lateral Recruiting to handle all of Locke Lord’s lateral recruiting matters

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s Degree required
 Proficient in MS Office Suite including PowerPoint and Excel
 Excellent written and verbal skills
 Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
 Ability to work in a professional environment
 Ability to successfully prioritize a consistent workload and work on multiple projects and changing priorities
 Display meticulous attention to detail and follow-through; perform tasks with high degree of accuracy
