Overview:

The Legal Recruiting Coordinator in the Houston office is responsible for supporting the Houston Legal Recruiting team with attorney recruiting efforts, the summer associate program, events throughout the year, attorney professional development and engagement, and various administrative tasks. May also provide assistance to other Houston departments as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Summer Associate Program
    • Help plan and prepare for weekly Summer Program social events
    • Attend social events as needed
    • Maintain database of Summer Associate assignments
    • Gather and compile attorney feedback for Summer Associate performance
      evaluations
    • Assist with offer process and tracking
  • On-Campus Interviewing and In-Office Attorney Interviews
    • Maintain candidate database with heavy volume of applicants
    • Coordinate & facilitate interviews
    • Prepare materials for interviews, recruiting events, and recruiting meetings
    • Prepare correspondence (e-mails and offer letters) to candidates
    • Attend recruiting meetings, keeping organized record of all decisions made and
      action steps following meetings
    • Track student expense reimbursements and submit for processing
  • Attorney Professional Development and Associate Life
    • Prepare for CLE (continuing legal education) trainings when needed
    • Prepare onboarding paperwork for new attorneys, process paperwork, and help coordinate new hire orientation
    • Develop strong relationships with attorneys and staff
  •  Assist with various administrative tasks
    • Assist with office parties and events throughout the year
    • Assist with surveys
    • Monitor Recruiting Budget
  • Prepare and process invoices and expense reports using Chrome River (Firm’s accounting software)
  • Coordinate meetings, conference rooms, and catering when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2-3 years of legal recruiting experience, preferably in a large law firm setting
  • Experience working with Symplicity (Law School employment communications tool), FloRecruit and ViDesktop, our applicant tracking software, is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, have excellent skills in written and verbal communication, organizational ability, be detail oriented, and able to prioritize and complete multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and (especially from May-August), able to attend weekend and/or evening events, and able to travel occasionally
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
  • Must be able to maintain a client-focused mentality and a professional demeanor
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; experience working in a database is a plus
